In the quiet night, the center of the Milky Way rises above the rim of the Teide Caldera in Teide National Park. In the foreground, Tenerife’s national flower, the red tajinaste, is in bloom, adding a vivid splash of color to the nocturnal scene. The Milky Way image was captured with an astro-modified camera, revealing the delicate structures of the galactic center in remarkable detail, while the foreground was recorded separately using an unmodified camera
