Rho Ophiuchi over Teide Caldera

In the early night, the Rho Ophiuchi molecular cloud rises above the caldera of Teide National Park. The nebula region marks the head of the Scorpius constellation. The image connects the geology of the caldera with the large-scale dust and gas structures of our Milky Way.
